Terms and Conditions for Summer houses
DEPOSITS &
CANCELLATIONS:When ordering we will ask you for a deposit which is needed to confirm your order. This
is fully refundable up to when we start to build your building (approx 7 days before the estimated completion
date on small to medium buildings and approx 14 days for large & bespoke buildings,) if you choose to cancel
once we have started to manufacture your building during this 7 to 14 day period your deposit becomes NON
refundable. If you are happy with your order then the full balance will be
required in cash on the day of collection/delivery if paying by cheque you will need to send it to us 7 days before
delivery/collection, as funds will need to be cleared, we do not except Paypal or bank transfers on the day either
as these have caused us problems in the past. If your building take more than 1 day then you will be
expected to pay amounts on each day, if 2 days then 50% + 50% if 3 days then 1 3rd each day. (By
placing your order you are agreeing to our terms & conditions.)
Delivery &
Erection We usually use a trusted contractor to build, deliver and erect. Any
date or period for delivery shall be considered as indicative only. As with most construction businesses,
we are governed by the weather, materials coming in late, workers off sick ect and may occasionally
have to re-arrange delivery & erection at the last moment due to factors out of our
control.
All prepared bases must be
level, if slightly out the erector can usually help but If in the opinion of the erectors the base is
not to a reasonable standard the erector reserves the right to refuse to erect your building, in which the customer
will not be required to pay the original erection fee but will still have to pay for the cost of delivery, if they
require the erection of the building at a later date then new arrangements must be made with the erector at an
extra cost, however the erector reserves the right to refuse to return, (if this happens you will be reimbursed
with your erection fee if you have pre paid.) If you have problems with your base we may be able to help if you
inform us when ordering.
Any loss, damage or deterioration to the building that occurs after delivery while waiting for adequate completion
of the base, will be the responsibility of the customer.
Access to the site must be
safe, unrestricted and if more than 120 feet from the point of delivery you must inform us when
ordering. Prior to delivery you should ensure that your base is level and square and of correct size. Access
to the base must be clear and unobstructed prior to our arrival.
Delivery quotes allow for carrying of panels up to 120 ft with no hills or obsticles, this is due to the large size
of some panels It is not always convenient to try and carry buildings through garages, over walls or over next
door’s garden, so it’s very important that we are told about any problems prior to delivery so panels can be built
appropriately.
The risk in the goods shall pass to the Customer on delivery completion. If goods are being
collected the risk in the goods shall pass when the Customer uplifts them from the workshop. The Customer
should inspect the goods on collection/ delivery or after erection for any damage. If the paint on your
building has been scratched we will provide you with the appropriate colour to touch up any scuffs or
scratches. However if your building has more severe cargo damage we will replace any broken parts but they
must be reported to us on the day of delivery, however if you have collected the building and everything is
fine before you leave we will not be obligated to correct any damage that was incurred by yourselves in
cargo, although we will usually help you out as we always aim to be fair.
Wood products: Although we use top
quality timber, wood is a natural material and may swell, shrink, warp or split and knots may fall out this
is beyond our control and will NOT be covered by us as this can happen to any wooden product no matter
how thick, even hard wood swells and shrinks etc.. Damage caused by splash back or severe weather
conditions including roof felt/tiles being ripped off by gale force winds will not be covered
by us either Timber is a natural product that will react to the variable British climate,
therefore shrinking of timber components may occur in hot weather and swelling in damp or wet weather, this is
completely out of our control and can happen with any wooden building or door etc. Unless the wood has been
Tanalied by the timber mill then We always give every building 2 external coats of wood preserve usually
Cuprinol that's to our superior range buildings only that is built from clean T&G and Not Tanalised
T&G, You can opt for an extra coat, a different product or for your tanalised T&G to be externally painted
at extra cost which would need to be done at our work shop or if needed you can purchase the paint
from us and you can apply another coat once your building has been erected. If you have an untreated building
then we strongly recommend that this is done as soon as possible at least 2 coats of stain should be applied to pro
long the life of the wood and to prevent any future problems, please make sure that you pay extra attention to end
grains, joints, doors & windows for extra potection you can use silicone on all window/door joins and paint the
internal of your building. Please remember that when we build your summerhouse the wood has been stored in side so
it will shrink or swell once it has been out side for a while this could be within days or months but iat some
point you will have to adjust the hinges on your doors and possibly your windows, we leave expansion gaps which
have covers on for this very reason. (it is not our responibilty to maintain your buildig once it is delivered so
if you require instruction on how to adjust the hinges please ask one of our fitters when they are installing your
building and they will happily advice you) Please see our faqs page for maintaining your building. We have done
exstensive research veiwing many other companies products and we know that we sell a very good product especially
for it's price range and we have also been reasured of this fact by many of our customers so dispite wood behaving
as wood should we are confident about the product we supply & would urge our potential customers to visit
our workshop and view for themselves before ordering.
Wood sizes explained: We
use 16mm 125 T&G, which is milled down to approx 10mm to 12mm this is industry standard. On our 19mm
125 T&G it is planed to approx 14mm to 16mm thick and on 25mm 125 T&G it’s planed down to approx
19mm to 21mm, Please note the wood is named and planed by the timber providers not by us and is the same country
wide although each mill may vary hence why it can come up at slightly different sizes. (There is nothing we can do
about this and therefore we except No reponsibility for the thickness that the timber mills plane the wood to)
(please note: We do not Tanalise the wood ourselves & life expectancies of the timbers are given by the timber
mills themselves and therefore we take no responsibilty for this, there hasn't ever been any problems but we do
have to cover ourselves.)
We reserve the right to decline an order if any problems go unresolved. We can alter the
designs/specifications without prior notice if such changes are made in order to upgrade and improve the existing
designs.
